Curraghs Wildlife Park

The last thing I expected to find in the Isle of Man is a Wildlife Park.
Curraghs Wildlife Park is not just a place to interact with the animals. They participate in breeding programs, share information worldwide, as well as cooperate on a global level to manage and breed captive populations of endangered species.

The animals I saw were not your garden variety zoo kind.  They were varied and lived in open spaces on the 26 acre park.
 Meet some of the residents.
Penguins
Coatis having fun

Guanaco having a snack
Reahs

Look at the size of the Capybaras

This alpha Macaque was happily accepting grapes from a little boy

Proud as a Peacock
Spider Monkeys hanging around
Graceful Swans
Meerkats waiting for their lunch
A rare Black Swan
Wallaby having a rest

Kookaburra
And now my favourite visit of the day....the Lemurs.
I walked into their enclosure and was fascinated with
how tame and soft they were.
It was great fun to watch their antics

Pelicans
The view on the drive home was fantastic
